I Crown You The QUEEN of my Heart…
“My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.” – Queen of Hearts.
This magical styled shoot was created and designed around the Queen of Hearts theme. This theme is something that is quite different in the wedding industry, but it’s a theme that has so many weird and wonderful ways to bring together dark colours in a romantic setting.
Red has always been one of my favourite colours and I love working with bold colours in cake design. When I was approached for this styled shoot I really wanted to show you what crazy colours on a wedding cake can look like. I decided that the cake definitely had to be BLACK!
Everything about this cake has a deep and dark feeling to it.
Imagine this black fondant, with a dark chocolate mocha cake inside, completely filled with delicious and smooth dark chocolate ganache.
The coffee and chocolate flavours being rich and tasting absolutely delicious…
Then I decided that this cake definitely could not just be in plain black. I created some texture on the cake with lines running vertically up the cake.
This entire look was completed with some seriously deep red roses. These roses are handmade sugar flowers.
The last few steps… I added on some leafy bits all around my red roses. I made some black and white leaves and twigs to form a crown all around my roses on this cake.
